Trotsky and revolution in the West
4:15pm Fri 18 Aprmelbourne
About this session
Many on the Western left have resigned themselves to the impossibility of revolution, advocating instead for gradual change via parliamentary reform. Yet Trotsky (like Marx before him) argued that revolution was both possible and necessary in the West. Indeed, he dedicated much of his attention to this exact topic during the turbulent 1920’s and 30’s, writing brilliant works analysing developments and suggesting concrete perspectives for socialists in those countries.
