The Destroyer of Worlds: The 80th anniversary of Nuclear Bomb
2:15pm Sun 20 AprAbout this session
It's been eighty years since the US empire unleashed deadly weapons of mass destruction onto the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki - 200,000 people were murdered, the vast majority women, children and the elderly. Those who survived the initial firestorms endured horrific side effects from radiation exposure. Today, children in Hiroshima and Nagasaki are still being born with birth defects. This was a crime against humanity. But it's always the victors who control the narrative, and in this case the enduring myth is that the US had to unleash nuclear weapons to end World War Two. Today, the weapons at the disposal of our rulers are more destructive than ever and the only way to stop them is to get rid of this barbaric system. Come along to this session to discuss one of the greatest crimes of capitalism - the nuclear bomb.
