Robocops: The militarisation of the Australian police
2:15pm Sat 19 Aprmelbourne
About this session
Since the 1970s Australian states have increasingly armed their police forces with guns, tasers, riot gear and other weapons. At the Disrupt Land Forces demonstration last year, police attacked shocked protesters with stun grenades and hard-foam bullets. This session will explore the politics behind the constant drive to militarise Australia's police and how we can resist heightened repression.
