Lenin and the revolutionary party
2:15pm Fri 18 AprAbout this session
The question of party organisation has been a central concern of Marxists for more than a century. This book club on "Marxism and the Party" by the British Marxist John Molyneux will explore the relationship between the revolutionary party and the working class, and the contributions made by Marxists to this question. We strongly encourage attendees to not only read the book but attend other sessions in the series.
In "Marxism and the Party" Molyneux dispels the myths about "democratic centralism" and demonstrates that the kind of socialist party that Lenin built had nothing in common with the Stalinist despotism that replaced it. This session will discuss how the Bolsheviks organised and how Lenin developed his ideas about the revolutionary party over time.
