A History of the US-Mexico Border: Imperialism, Exploitation and Racism
10:00am Fri 18 Aprmelbourne
About this session
The aggressive exploitation of labour on both sides of the US-Mexico border has become a prominent feature of capitalism in North America. Kids in cages, violent ICE raids, and anti-immigrant racist rhetoric characterise today’s political reality and shape how people intersect at the US-Mexico border. This is not new but part of a long history of imperialism, exploitation and racism waged by US imperialism against the US-Mexican working-class.
