The new Cold War between the US and China: how the left should respond
About this session
The conflict between the US and China is putting pressure on the stability of the global geopolitical order established after the fall of the Soviet Union. This raises important questions for the socialist left. For some China, whatever its faults, is seen as a bulwark against Western imperialism. However this ignores China's own imperialist nature. This talk will explain why the socialist left should oppose both Western and Chinese geopolitical machinations and instead look to international working-class solidarity as the only barrier to another century of imperialism and war.
