About this session
The far right has grown all around the world in recent years. From Trumpism in the US, to Bolsonaro in Brazil, to Modi in India, many far right organisations have won state power, and others have grown substantially. What is spurring the growth of these extreme reactionary politics? Are they fascist? What tactics should socialists use to combat their rise? This session will compare the contemporary far right to the history of classical fascism to try and draw lessons for socialists today
