Can capitalism go green?

About this session
Environmentalists have proposed a range of strategies for sustainability within capitalism. Using the power of profit-seeking innovation for green ends; policies to control the rate of economic growth to zero or even negative growth; redesigning production, consumption and waste processes in ways that are mindful of ecological implications. Can these proposals create a sustainable economy, or is the only solution to overthrow the capitalist system?
